Game simply doesn't open

Hi folks, just got everything fully downloaded and installed but am hitting a brick wall before I get anywhere! Wanted to post here first to see if I'm just being an idiot before I go ahead and report it in the bugs section.

Simply put - I press play, Steam shows me as playing the game for a few moments, nothing else happens, then it shows me as just being online, not playing. Nothing actually opens at all.

I've done a verify and all was OK, so I then deleted some files from the game folder and verified again. It downloaded the missing files fine, but then still behaves the exact same.

Am I being a colossal moron here?

What are your system specs (including GPU driver version)? Have you played the Prologue?

You guys are awesome!  The amount of stuff I'm seeing fixed shortly after reported is amazing.  Honestly I'm more of a North American freight guy, but this kind of dedication and the product you have here has really made me a fan of the railroad on the other side of the ocean.
