  1. Ok, this can be closed for now. Setting the graphics to half resolution seems to have done the trick to at least make the framerate steady. Hopefully I can finally get into the driving a bit now!
  2. Ok, here's the last batch of settings I've tried: Settings part 1 Settings part 2 I've tried 30fps limit as well, I've turned off things like shadows and grass and I'm still getting the sort of frame drops which make it unplayable - I had MSI afterburner running whilst running the game and would often see freezes, or drops to single digit FPS. Yet, the MSI afterburner overlay shows the GPU utlisation staying at 45% or below and CPU cores all capping out at less than 40% utilisation, so it's not even like there's a sudden bottleneck in either the CPU or GPU utilisation. I am now trying to uninstall and reinstall the game and seeing if that helps, but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be delighted to hear them. I want to be able to play SimRail, but as it is currently it's utterly unplayable for me. If I can't find a solution, I'll just have to stick to TSC and TSW for my train kick!
  3. Hi there. Graphics driver is up to date and I used the verify files method before posting here - this was kind of a last resort sort of thing!. I'll give the shadows and vegetation thing a try. Thank you!
  4. I bought this a few weeks ago, but I've barely touched it as the performance is unplayable. The game hangs when I pan the camera and the frame rate is basically terrible. Also, more often than not the game simply crashes before I even get as far as getting the train running in the tutorial. My computer exceeds the recommended specs. Ryzen 5 3600, 1660 Super, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, game is installed on a SATA SSD. I'm trying to play at 1920x1080, 60hz, but would be happy with a solid 30fps. I'm kind of at a loss. I've fiddled with all kinds of graphics settings but am getting nothing approaching it being playable.
