I agree - safety first at all times. I couldn't care less if other drivers and dispatchers are angry at me for driving the speed limit. If I get delayed hours because of it, then so be it. Safety and comfort of my passengers comes first. This also applies when I am driving freight trains as well. Focus on safety and don't worry if others are angry at you.

I agree with you. Driver only servers would be great. Constant unnecessary chatter on the radio and inexperienced dispatchers have ruined several sessions for me as well. Hopefully AI dispatchers will be improved in the future. -
Unfortunately I still have the same issue. On top of that, some of my catenary poles have turned red and some signs are green.

Excellent points! Some of us just don't have the time to go through made up events. My time is quite limited and I just don't have the extra hours to finish my route. Red lights and late trains are to be expected. However, when these made up problems start popping up everywhere - it absolutely ruins the enjoyment for me.

Approaching Bukowno (on the way to Katowice) 40 km/h speed limit is not shown on the route information. It causes massive over speeding through the station since there is no warning ahead of time (other than the signs posted on the ground). I will be attaching a picture as well.

I was just about to post about this. After the patch, cars are still double stacked there. I had 20 cars piled up on top of each other.

I noticed this issue has been partially resolved since the latest patch. I can see the interior lights of the passenger wagons and electric multiple units which I am driving. It's better than before. However, I can still not see the interior lights of other player's trains. It's pitch black in passenger wagons when the other trains are passing by. Has anyone else noticed the same issue?

Yes indeed, if you are moving at certain speed rapid notch run down and run up can save tremendous time. I noticed if you are doing 50 kmh or higher, you can easily skip from notch 1 to 28 easily and then it starts accelerating rapidly past notch 28.

That's exactly what I was referring to in 2 of my posts above... Few predetermined options created by developers is all I ask for. Especially as we will have new electric multiple unit soon. -

I am wondering what was discussed on Discord about train racing...?🤔 It truly saddens me to hear that some people associate SimRail with racing. It's all about cooperation with other drivers and signalers. Those who want to race are playing the wrong game. -

I understand perfectly about Elf long distance trains. It makes sense. How about upcoming electric EN57 maybe being used as an option to EN76 and EN96? This is just something to add extra variety and not using the same trains over and over again on the same routes. Taking over trains from AI on already active schedule would incredibly complicate things. That's not what I had in mind. I was thinking more about this: Player checks the schedule out and picks a service that will start in 10 minutes for example. Optional train is chosen in the game menu and then the train spawns at the starting station. Then the player waits for the departure time at the starting station. The problem we have here however, is how would this custom train appear to others? If I have chosen EN57, maybe in other player's eyes they would see EN76 or EN96...🤔 -
"I think having 'static stock' appear at stations increases the RAM demand on your card, leading to buffering on less powerful PCs. Maybe a separate issue but the same result, have you tried overtaking another moving train? It is a laggy mess." That's a very good point indeed. Haven't really thought about this. 🤔

Hello everyone. I have been thinking about this for several days now, and I am wondering what everyone will think about it. SimRail is focused on strict realism and I absolutely love that. I was just wondering however, would it be possible to use optional custom train consists on certain passenger routes? 🤔 What do I mean by that? Well, lets take a look at some examples where I will explain further what I'm thinking about. Example number 1: On certain local passenger routes, I would love to use locomotive hauled passenger cars instead of EN76 or EN96. How about using EU07 or E186 hauling 2, 3 or 4 passenger cars? Also, I would absolutely love to use the upcoming EN57 electric multiple units on these routes. Example number 2: On longer express routes, maybe we could use EN96 multiple units instead of EU07 locomotive hauled trains. This would not apply to Pendolino routes where speeds are much higher. How would this work? Before starting a route, players could chose optional train consists in the menu. These consists would be approved and created by developers only! Players would not be able to create their own. This would prevent unrealistic gameplay (players taking Pendolinos on local routes for example). The above suggestions would not apply in cases where players are taking over trains from AI. In such cases, you would have to drive whatever the AI was driving before you took over the controls. I feel that having more variety of trains on certain routes would be great. What does everyone think about this? Would it be too complicated or unrealistic to have these options in game?
