Volumetric Fog Causes Various Rendering/Lighting Issues
Bescot replied to Michael Rotchburns's topic in Issues archive
Did yesterdays hotfix just turn off the volumetric lighting globally? It's a shame because since that fix we don't have the volumetric lights on lamp posts in yards, platforms or streets. -
Same for me. Really bad with the modern trains with powerful front lights. Hope the devs fix this.

1. It has been commented in various threads that brake timing for application down the train, and release is too quick for long freight trains. Can this be looked at? 2. This is made worse in the ET25 because we are unable to change the brake mode from P. Please make it possible to alter the brake mode between R/P/G

Universal phrases in the general chat.

I like this idea for drivers too. At the moment if you do not want to use a mic, you have to type messages which can be a pain when your trying to drive properly. If there was a click spot on the radio chat to open a preset menu of written dialogue (or even spoken via TTS) it would be good. -
The image is not fluid having high FPS

Well, I don't think the fix worked for some of us, we've discussed it on the discord server. This only seemed to have got worse since the last patch (or one before?) 60+ fps, but micro stutters constantly - It doesn't matter what resolution or game graphics are chosen, it persists. Here's a vid from my Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 3.60 GHz, 3060ti, 16GB RAM, latest Geforce drivers, all Win 11 updates. 4K resolution in this test, but 1440 does the same. https://streamable.com/cw2z6i -
Coming from Olkusz to Bukowno the line speed drops to 40 before Bukowno station - but the HUD does not warn of this line speed reduction.

Toggle - flip/flop switches working now
Bescot replied to Gazz292's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
The ELF and Pendolino cab light switches still don't flip/flop, could devs take a look please? The keybind will only increase. Edit: The Pendo actually doesn't seem to flip/flop in any of the switches on the edge of the desk, so wipers etc don't switch off from keybinds. -
Dragon 2 braking force & rates seem over powerful to me
Bescot replied to Bescot's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Nobody wants to comment on this? I'm finding the thing un-drivable. As soon as I put the train brake to minimum application the brakes just come on very hard. The Traxx and Seven feel much more realistic. -

Strange yeah. I did have DLSS on ultra before the patch but ended up having to put it on balanced mode after due to a fairly big fps drop in the 3060ti@4k - 60fps down to around 45fps. Is DLSS scaled differently now? -

Same here. Tried on two different machines. One is a Ryzen 7-3600X/RTX3060ti and the other is i9-12900k/RTX3080ti. Both have steady high frame rates (60 or 144fps on a g-sync monitor) but as I drive the scenery isn't fluid. -
On the EN76/96 train I get disconnected from the server when I open the doors, so unable to drive this train any more. Server EN1 SimRail_log_2023-01-29_13-09-23.txt

Can I query the brakes on the Dragon + flat wagons? The MINIMUM train brake setting is very forceful (and gives a 0,5bar reduction) and is VERY quick to apply 8% down the whole train. I know little about this loco, but could it be checked that brake type is set to freight and not rapid, and if the force is correct? If you compare it to the E186 + coal hopper wagons they behave more like I'd expect, where the air takes a while to propagate and the brake pipe reduction is delayed due to this. The dragon + flats seems to brake more like an EP, which I doubt is realistic.

I drove a 424*** with E186 and the 20 short speed restriction for open crossing at JULIUSZ didn't update afterwards in the hud. It only updated past the signal box at Wschodnia when it changed to 70. I switched to bot driver for a bit and he stayed at 20 all the way on L171. Not sure when this started to happen as it worked ok a few days ago. It's a LONG drive at 20km/h and caused a 18 minute delay. See second screenshot where rear of train has cleared the 20, but HUD didn't update to correct line speed. Also this crossing has broken cars - they don't stop for trains. SimRail_log_2023-01-24_21-46-32.txt
