  1. This was a weird issue. I was driving on time, on multiplayer. I had to stop at Katowice to pick up passengers. I got the "you can stop now" message and I stopped at the correct location, but without realizing, I had the throttle set at 1 instead of 0, in case this is important information. The timer at the top right of the screen started counting down from about 5 minutes (I was a little bit early, so I didn't think it strange). When the timer reached 0, I heard the whistle and I started. Only then I realized that the throttle was at 1. So I put it back to 0 and then up again. At that point, the sim asked me to stop and pick up passengers. And it told me I was 8 minutes late. I was already too fast to stop, so I missed my stop and had to go back a bit. What seems to have happened is that the system was referring (with the timer) to my previous stop, and it didn't register my stop at Katowice until I put the throttle back to zero . Only then it started checking for the Katowice stop, and of course complained because it thought I hadn't stopped there yet. SimRail_log_2025-01-11_17-06-00.txt
  2. Thanks for the reply. I don't remember the train number, but there was a scenario where I even had to shunt the train from the depot to the starting point, including a couple of cab changes... that didn't sound like a mid shift change, but the train was ready anyway. But I understand it's a scenery thing and not something under the control of the simulator...
  3. Before the latest update, in single player, you would start the mission with a totally "cold and dark" train, and you needed to do everything starting from enabling the battery. I understand many people may find that boring, but since it's an important part of my shift in real life, I actually liked having to prepare the train. Why was it removed? And is it possible to have at least an option to start with a dark loco, like it is with flight simulators?
  4. You know how if you hover the mouse over a switch, you get a nice toltip telling you what thw switch is? I'd like to see the same thing over indicators and warning lights. Sometimes the lights have no labels, sometimes they have them but in Polish. Quite often a light comes on and I have no idea what it is...

      • I agree
  5. Duh. Now I feel stupid. No, I hadn't tried the Left-Shift, because I always drive with my right hand on the mouse and only the left hand on the keyboard, and Lshift and "+" are much too far apart to be pushed with just one hand. So now, my next request/suggestion... Make it possible to change the "modifier" to RShift or another key not far from the numpad... unless it can already be done 🙂 But I checked the key bindings and couldn't find that option.
  6. This applies both to Single player and Multiplayer, but I'm only adding it here. Basically, I would like a quick way to access some "important" positions on the power controller. I.e. on a modern power handle, where you can move it from Neutral, to the 0-100% power zone, if you are at 100% and you want to quickly set power to zero, you have to keep "-" pressed for a long time until it reaches zero. It would be nice if, for example, pressing "Shift -" would snap it immediately to zero. With a rheostatic controller, we have several "resting" positions, the ones marked in green on the HUD, where we can travel without resistors inserted, so without overheating problems. It would be nice if still using the Shift key, or any other modifier key, we could "jump" quickly to those positions (i.e. 0, End of series, End of series/parallel, End of parallel). After all, in reality, we can quickly move the controller to the desired position...
  7. I just tried the suggestion (I had forgotten about the issue because I kept my controller disconnected all this time). I disabled the controller in Steam properties for this simulator, but the issue is still here (with the controller physically connected to the computer, there is no way to advance the drive handle using the "+" key).
  8. I noticed that since last update, some keys wouldn't work, i.e. for the drive handle, pressing "-" would lower it but pressing "+" wouldn't work, even though the key bindings are correct. The same thing happened with the brake handle: pressing KP 3 would apply brakes, but pressing KP 9 would do nothing. Today I realized that the problem goes away if I disconnect my USB XBOX-style controller. Apparently the presence of the controller, even if not touched, conflicts with the keyboard.
  9. Yes, that would be good, but what I mean is a map before starting the simulator, in the screen where you choose a server and a train to run
  10. I know there is an online map where you can see the current players/bots on the servers. But I think it would be nice to have a similar map in-game, when choosing a server and a train to run. It would be nice to see at a glance how many trains (both live and bots) are on the line and where, and how many live dispatchers. It would also be nice to be able to see where the different available trains are in the line, so you can more easily choose a train that's in an area you like...
  11. I'm using SimRail on Linux, via Proton emulation. The simulator works perfectly, and the frame rates are acceptable, but while driving it frequently freezes (I suppose when loading scenery?) sometimes for just half a second, and sometimes for 5 full seconds or more. This also happens when not moving, if I change view direction (for example when stopped at a station, if I press "2" to look at the train from the outside, and then change view direction). My GPU is a NVidia GTX1070 with 8GB of RAM. System RAM is 48GB. CPU is Intel i5-8500. The simulator is installed on a very fast PCI-e NVM stick. I'm attaching the log for my last run.
